The War on the Future, Part 2: The War on Childhood
How They're Engineering a Generation for Managed Decline
In Part 1, we mapped the “Economic Cage” The Rust 🦠 built to wage war on love and family. But their Managed Decline doctrine doesn’t stop there. It requires sabotaging the future itself by attacking its most vulnerable foundation: our children.
This isn’t hyperbole. The crises facing American kids today – crumbling schools, toxic digital spaces, a poisoned environment – are not isolated failures. They are the predictable outcomes of a deliberate, multi-decade project designed to create a generation that is less educated, more anxious, easier to control, and disconnected from their own power. Welcome to the War on Childhood.
Front 1: The Hollowing Out of Public Education 🏫
Public schools, meant to be engines of opportunity, are being systematically starved and delegitimized to pave the way for privatization.
The Funding Lie: They claim spending doubled with no results? A distortion using bad math. Real spending on the average student barely increased (just 28% growth over 25 years) as funds were diverted, often to unfunded mandates like special education.
Pocket Razor 🔪: They manufactured a crisis narrative by cooking the books.
Engineered Inequality: Relying on local property taxes creates massive spending gaps (richest districts spend nearly 10x poorest). The Supreme Court’s Rodriguez decision (1973) effectively legalized separate and unequal schools at the federal level.
Truth Bullet 💥: Poorest districts spend 56% less per pupil than the richest, leading to fewer qualified teachers, larger classes, and worse materials.
The Privatization Offensive: “School choice” (vouchers, charters) isn’t grassroots – it’s a billionaire-funded campaign (Koch, DeVos) to drain public funds.
Truth Bullet 💥: Multiple studies show vouchers have minimal or negative impacts on student achievement and increase segregation.
Pocket Razor 🔪: “School choice” is often just a subsidy for the rich and a way to abandon public schools.
Culture War Sabotage: Manufactured panics over “CRT” (leading to bans in 17+ states) and a record 10,046 book bans in 2023-24 (mostly targeting POC/LGBTQ+ voices, driven by organized groups, not parents) aim to destroy public trust and make privatization seem like the only escape.
Front 2: The Digital Panopticon 📱
The digital world isn’t a playground; it’s an engineered environment designed to addict, exploit, and surveil children for profit.
Engineering Addiction: Social media use is linked to the youth mental health crisis.
Truth Bullet 💥: Teens using social media >3 hours/day face double the risk of depression and anxiety symptoms. Platforms are intentionally designed with features (infinite scroll, variable rewards) that trigger addiction pathways, potentially altering brain development.
Pocket Razor 🔪: Their business model requires your child’s addiction.
Algorithmic Predators: Algorithms optimized solely for engagement trap kids with harmful content (like “Elsagate” on YouTube Kids) or use manipulative “dark patterns” in games (loot boxes, FOMO) to drive addiction and spending. Child well-being is treated as an irrelevant externality.
Normalizing Surveillance: From EdTech monitoring every click in school (disproportionately flagging marginalized students and even outing LGBTQ+ kids) to private ALPR networks (like Flock Safety) tracking family cars, children are being conditioned from birth to accept constant, unaccountable surveillance.
Pocket Razor 🔪: They’re building a generation that doesn’t know privacy exists.
Front 3: A Poisoned Inheritance 🌳💨💧
Decades of prioritizing corporate profit over public health have left children a toxic legacy, concentrated along lines of race and class – environmental racism made manifest.
The Geography of Poison: Your zip code determines your health.
Truth Bullet 💥: Pediatric asthma rates from air pollution are 7.5 times higher in communities of color, a gap that grew 19% in the last decade due to racist policy decisions concentrating pollution sources.
Truth Bullet 💥: ~500,000 US children suffer from lead exposure, primarily low-income and minority kids in older housing, due to systemic disinvestment.
Climate Change as Child Abuse: Children are uniquely vulnerable to a warming planet. The EPA projects climate change will cause significant increases in childhood asthma (+11% to +30%), Lyme disease (+241% at 4°C), reduce academic achievement, displace millions via flooding, and cause mental health trauma.
Pocket Razor 🔪: They traded your child’s future health for fossil fuel profits – and they knew it.
Corporate Capture: Regulatory agencies like the EPA are compromised by the “revolving door” where industry lobbyists (like Nancy Beck from the American Chemistry Council) take key positions and weaken safety rules from the inside. Fossil fuel companies knew about health risks for decades but funded campaigns to manufacture doubt and block regulations.
The Keystone: Corporate Power & Citizens United (Again) 🏛️💰
How do these attacks continue? The same keystone locks this cage: unfettered corporate power.
Truth Bullet 💥: The 2010 Citizens United decision opened the floodgates for corporate cash in politics, enabling massive lobbying efforts that undermine public education (Section 230 shields tech platforms), block digital safety regulations for kids, and gut environmental protections.
The Playbook (Project 2025): This isn’t theoretical. Their written plan explicitly calls for abolishing the Department of Education, ending Head Start, gutting civil rights enforcement in schools, and using federal funds to enforce ideological compliance. It’s the codified endgame for the war on childhood.
Stealing the Future
This isn’t neglect; it’s a systemic war on the future. By degrading education, weaponizing technology, and poisoning the environment, The Rust 🦠 is engineering a generation less capable of critical thought, more susceptible to control, and burdened by crises they didn’t create. It’s the architecture of Managed Decline, ensuring their power remains secure by dimming the potential of those who would challenge it.
Our Constructed Miracle must involve not only saving ourselves but fiercely defending the next generation’s right to inherit a world worth fighting for.

I think one very important component has been left out in building a stronger foundation for our children. It might be too late to claim this resource already, but it should be given a try. Here we throw out our elders knowledge a resource which is very valuable. By doing this over decades we have created a bigger problem for our children. What’s getting passed down from generation to generation?! Sorry I’m going to answer my own question here. Nothing gets passed down and this has created a huge deficit for our children and society today. Everything I’ve learned from my grandparents (I was one of the lucky children to have learned from them myself) was passed down to my parents and then it’s passed down over and over again. Without learning from the generations before us we have been conditioned to just follow our leaders without question. This was planned by our government and the wealthy elite. We let this happen and now what do we have brainwashed children that can’t think for themselves. Inequality between rich and everyone else who isn’t rich. We inherited nothing but racism, division, and poverty after decades of not using our valuable resources which are the older generations wisdom. The family unit was grandparents living in the home with their children. Which then the next generation of parents had their children living with the entire family unit. By losing that family unit and sending grandparents off where they are not seen or heard from again and them being treated like a burden to the family stuck away in a nursing home is where we went wrong.
Yes I’m an old fart now, but I’m a free thinker which is dangerous to the government and their whims. They can’t control me and I see right through their BS. If you want to make a difference for children today start learning and listening to us old farts.
When we were children we asked questions. Why is this or that happening and I got real answers to what might have seemed dumb, but I kept asking questions and getting more answers from my grandparents. That knowledge was priceless. Take time out for your children and don’t leave it to social media to teach them. All that has done is dumb them down. Not to mention leaving them open to being harmed by predators. If you’re working everyday and need someone to watch your children start using your parents to watch them and teach them about how the world works.
This is just one of many things that will help your children become better adults who think for themselves and not just follow blindly thru life.
Thank you for writing this article and hoping that it makes a difference for our children and their children.
Ethan, you brought up one of the most critical topics in our children’s lives.. 🙏
