They Used a Culture War Spectacle as a Shield to Rob You.
They blinded us with empathy and stole the engine while we fought the flames.
I need you to read this. And I need you to be angry.
Yesterday, the administration threw a perfect culture war flashbang onto our screens.
The target was the Supreme Court ruling on trans passports. It was a vicious, hateful, and deliberate spectacle, engineered to inflict maximum pain on an already vulnerable community and consume 100% of our outrage. It felt personal. It was personal.
And it worked perfectly.
I, like many of you, was consumed by the fire of it. The sheer, pointless malice. But as I was sitting there, shaking with a cold rage, a question kept digging into my skull.
Why now?
Why this, so loudly?
Now I know.
That ruling wasn’t the mission. That was the air cover.
It was a pre-planned, sacrificial act of cruelty. They knew it would dominate the news. They wanted us all blinded by the smoke, screaming at the injustice, and fighting with each other. They needed us distracted.
Because while the entire world was rightly focused on that fire, they were executing a coordinated, multi-front heist to consolidate their power. While we were defending the rights of one group, they were quietly stripping the rest of us for parts.
On the exact same days that ruling dominated the news, here is what they did in the shadows:
➼ They Handed Our Public Lands to Big Oil
They nominated Stevan Pearce to run the Bureau of Land Management. This isn’t just a regular appointment. Pearce is a career anti-conservationist with a 4% lifetime score from the League of Conservation Voters. He was a founder of the “Anti-Parks Caucus” and has a history of trying to sell off public lands for fossil fuel extraction. The fox is now guarding 245 million acres of our henhouse.
➼ They Put a Corporate Lobbyist in Charge of Nuke Safety
They nominated Douglas Weaver to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. This is the “revolving door” made blatant. Weaver worked at the NRC, left to become a VP at the private nuclear corporation Holtec, then became a VP at Westinghouse. His job at Holtec was literally to “chaperon” their new reactor and get its “expedited licensing”. Now, he’s been nominated to sit on the exact commission that grants that approval.
➼ They Privatized NASA
They nominated billionaire Jared Isaacman to be the Administrator of NASA. Isaacman is a major federal contractor and the operator of a private space tourism company. They have put a contractor in charge of the public agency that is both his customer and his regulator.
➼ They Purged the Immigration Courts
They completed a quiet “purge and replace” operation. After firing or laying off over 100 permanent, experienced immigration judges, they eliminated the requirement for new judges to even have immigration law experience. Then, under the cover of the passport ruling, they announced the hiring of 36 new loyalists (many temporary) and nominated a hardline ideologue from Kris Kobach’s office to lead them. They have turned the judiciary into a “politicized... assembly line for deportations.”
➼ They Weaponized Federal Funding
They extorted Cornell University. This is a new, terrifying playbook. They froze $250 million in federal research funding, forced the university to pay a $60 million ransom, and forced them to adopt the administration’s anti-DEI ideology. Worse, $30 million of that “ransom” is a directed investment to “benefit U.S. farmers”—a key political constituency. They’ve created a template to make every university in America ideologically and financially compliant.
➼ They Activated New Federal Police Powers
On the same day as the nominations, they published a rule to accelerate the activation of new DHS police powers to “Protect Federal Property.” They knew these moves were a declaration of war, and they pre-deployed their enforcers to crush the dissent they were intentionally creating.
They inflicted real, measurable, human pain on the trans community. And then they used that pain as a shield.
They used one group’s suffering as a smoke screen to conduct a heist against every single one of us—our public lands, our regulatory bodies, our judiciary, our universities, and our right to dissent.
This isn’t a new tactic. It is a unified, documented psychological warfare campaign. [You can read the full deconstruction of this corporate playbook here.]
This is the playbook. This is the Great Distraction 🎮. This is how The Rust 🦠 operates.
They pit us against each other in a horizontal “Killing Game” 🎮 while they rob us blind from above.
Do not let them. See the whole board. Be angry about the passport ruling, yes—be furious. But aim that fury at the architects of this entire, cynical game.
The fight isn’t just for our trans brothers and sisters. The fight is against the single, unified enemy that sees all of us—every single Gear ⚙️—as a resource to be plundered or a distraction to be deployed.
A Note From the Forge:
The Story Behind the Schematic
If you understood the cold, cruel logic of the “Distraction & Heist” you just read, you might be asking how we were able to see this pattern.
It’s because this rebellion isn’t just built on political analysis. It’s built on a deeper, stranger, and more powerful doctrine.
The article you just read is the “What”—a hard, prosecutorial indictment of the enemy’s system.
If you are ready for the “Why” and the “How,” I invite you to read “The Living Storybook”.
This is our core mythology—a hybrid of political treatise, serialized myth, and my own autobiographical rebellion. It’s the code behind the prison. It’s where the analysis ends and the true story begins.
You can start with Part 1 here:
Join the Forge
My front in this war is narrative. My weapon is the written word.
But that’s just my skillset. This rebellion needs welders and coders, nurses and farmers, artists and analysts. It needs every Gear ⚙️ fighting from their own front.
The Rebuttal is our forge. It’s the place where we combine our different skills and ideas to build the playbook for our victory.
What’s your front? What’s your weapon? Join the War Council. Let’s build together.
Honor The Rebel’s Contract
This forge is heating up. Your subscription is the spark.
This is The Rebel’s Contract:
Every paid subscription is a direct, tangible investment in my liberation from the “gas station front.” Your support buys my time, and I transmute that time directly into the weapons we use to fight this war.
The 100% mark on our forge’s gauge is our first “Liberation Number”—the goal that lets me go full-time.
As of today, we are 30% of the way there.
If you believe in this mission, help us push this bar to 100%.
For those who wish to offer a fragment of support without a subscription, every spark helps build the fire.
Every act of support is a blow against The Rust.

They’ve taken away EVERYTHING that made this a wonderful country & it’s strictly for the richest & most selfish & cruel. STOP THE WORLD I WANT TO GET OFF🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I agree this is all a diversion to keep us distracted & squabbling amongst ourselves… my birth chart horoscope told me if I wanted less arguing in my life then to just stop arguing with people… I’m getting pulled into debates that lead to nowhere. The person isn’t listening anyway… they just want to fight. Walk away in mid sentence…
I do believe this is great advice, especially now. I’m a huge empath & tend to take in the toxicity of my environment… I have final exams coming up soon & I’d much rather spend my time studying than arguing with a bunch of random dumbasses that have no sense of morality. Now it’s time to step back & wait for the shutdown to end… one way or another… I can only do what I can when I can afford the time. ✨
