Modern Power Concentration (1990s–Present)

Not a cabal, but something more banal and more dangerous. Here’s where the conspiracy addicts start vibrating, because the overlapping ownership of media, finance, and politics looks like a giant evil machine.

But the truth is almost insultingly ordinary:

-- BlackRock and Vanguard aren’t puppet masters. They’re index fund behemoths whose passive investment model puts them everywhere and gives them suffocating influence by sheer scale.

-- Rockefeller, Ford, and Carnegie foundations now operate global philanthropy networks with immense policy sway, and zero democratic accountability.

-- The WEF is a networking circus of billionaires who desperately want to be mistaken for visionaries.

No unified motive.

No world-eating design.

Just a handful of institutions so large, so unregulated, and so entangled that their decisions distort democracy on autopilot.

This isn’t a conspiracy.

This is structural oligarchy.

The same handful of families and institutions that once funded eugenics now shape climate policy, economic models, governance frameworks, and global development. The ideology has changed. The power problem has not.

THE ACTUAL THING THAT CONNECTS IT ALL

It’s not a “Bad Code” passed like a cursed heirloom; it’s something worse, a recurring pattern:

Power attracts men who believe they are entitled to decide who matters.

Institutions protect those men.

And every few decades, the same atrocities reappear with new branding.

-- Eugenics > scientific cruelty

-- Paperclip > moral compromise

-- MKUltra > secret experimentation

-- Epstein > elite exploitation

-- BlackRock/WEF > unaccountable concentration of influence

Not one conspiracy.

ONE CULTURE.

A culture of unpunished harm. A culture where the powerful are allowed to treat living people like raw material.

Why Does This Matter? Because once you understand it’s not a cabal, you see the real stakes.

You see why democracies fail.

You see why oversight collapses.

You see why the same crimes repeat.

Not because someone is controlling the world.

But because no one is stopping the people who can.

Your synthesis is absolutely, breathtakingly brilliant. I've been trying to forge this exact schematic for months.

You are 100% correct. It's not a "cabal"; it's a "structural oligarchy." And your final point... "Not one conspiracy. ONE CULTURE. A culture of unpunished harm."... that is the entire key.

I have to share something personal with you, because your comment just gave me the answer to a debate I've been having with my father for years.

I've always argued with him that the "real" American culture—not the "Left vs. Right" spectacle they make us fight over—is one of "individualism and self-interested greed." I've told him there is no incentive in our system to help others.

He's a good man, and he could never understand it. He'd just throw his hands up and wonder "why our president is such an asshole."

Your comment just handed me the final, perfect "Truth Bullet" 💥.

The president isn't an anomaly. He's the most perfect, logical product of the very "culture of unpunished harm" you just described.

Thank you. You're not just a reader; you're a fellow Architect 🏛️. This is one of the most valuable fragments I've ever received.

Architect/Engineer... structure is frequently my most comfortable frame, it allows me the necessary emotional distance to see the patterns. But I am also a skeptic, I need real evidence, while there is a fair amount inference in your piece, the part that people need to understand is that POWER, unfettered, SOVEREIGN power is what we are really facing. I did a series a while back on the Post-state Sovereigns - they are at the ROOT of the real issue. I know I sound like a wing nut, but between the Post-state Sovereigns and the Epistemic War that has been waged for the last 40 years, when you start clocking those patterns you (well, mainly I) sound crazy. That's part of the plan.

Carnegie was, therefore, odds-on a member of the Round Table group formed by Rhodes and Milner among others, whom together with "Lord Esher" (a loathsome creature from the Black Lagoon), conspired to engineer WW1. A plot which started development at least 10 years prior to the beginning of hostilities. Basically, this group were, and still are, wedded to the British Empire, because only the British aristocracy were the chosen ones, the qualified ones, capable of extending the BE into the global empire we very nearly have today. The whole story of this crime against humanity is detailed in an excellent book by Gerry Docherty and Jim Macgregor called HIDDEN HISTORY The Secret Origins of the First World War

Billed as "a compelling and captivating study of the causes of WW1 that turns everything you think you know on its head."

What if it was put into legislation that in order to keep their tax advantages then 25% of their donations must go to feed people, to house people, to educate or re-educate people who have lost jobs due to changes in the economy. For example- if we close coal mines then take miners and train them to work in green power systems!! Then we could have sustained growth in that rather than continue to pollute the air water and soil. We need to explore thermal and nuclear energy more but we have limited people to do so!!! Just a thought. Thank you for an excellent article and all the tremendous work you do to keep us informed!!!!

Without a doable individual/collective solution - I choose sanity

And the only individual/collective solution I’ve ever studied/encountered that makes sense is the promise of an afterlife.

There once was a long-running public television series exploring scientific and other topics called "Closer to Truth."

The title came to mind when reading the above post, as it strikes me as being closer to the truth of world domination operations than other explanations that I have come across.

I think there is a desire in our minds and hearts for a sort of explanatory monotheism, a single source of all the machinations of society that cause consternation, if not outright fear.

It may be that there is no Oz behind any curtain.

It may be that there are loosely affiliated entities that combine or disaffiliate at will to accrue power and resources.

Given that none of these may have any loyalty to any other, the capacity for havoc may expand exponentially.

Somehow it would be reasonable to expect that should a mastermind exist, he, she, or it would be identified by now.

But perhaps the mastermind is only within our mind. (Cue scary music.)

But if that is so, then it is worthy of our own examination, our own need for explanations.

This is not to suggest that these entities and individuals are benign.

To my mind, they are presumptively malignant until proven otherwise. (They always were in comic books, and I can think of few other comparable wisdom repositories.)

Exactly. There rarely is an organized conspiracy anywhere- just a convergence of interests, right place right time, right connections. And what happens works AS LONG as the interests are aligned. If control is captured by one party in that convergence- Assad, Hitler, etc, they can keep it. If they don’t, because everyone is out for themselves the interests don’t stay aligned and people have to be cut out (Hitler & the industrialist elites who put him there)

I totally appreciate this very well explained strong counter opinion. As it seems more rational than the generational conspiracies voiced by the author - that might invite all sorts of paranoid socially destructive behaviors.

For Christians (even the real ones) Evil ie the Devil/Satan is the current ruler of this world post Adam/Eve. Evil is always present. So generic generational humanistic evil…rather than some post WWII decade after decade super organized uber wealthy plot to kill off various ‘sub’ populations does feel an unhealthy stretch.

But…That said…. I look at the narcissism of trump and how becoming potus has melded into hyper dangerous elitist authoritarianism…. And I wonder…. Is trump just some annoying wannabe rogue player? That the Rockefeller, Carnegies, etc are allowing his brand of chaotic smoke and mirrors because he’s such a half wit - So they aren’t concerned?

Or is there actually something to the whole organized elitist eugenics, et al group and the theory presented by the author today?

Either way… As a fatalist, I tend toward the final question of: ‘So what?’ Because, what can actually be done by the peon fodder humans reading these researched papers or opinions to stop these elitist agendas anyway?’

We only have one life to live. The terror and stress associated with any element of confrontational thought or behaviors is real. So, as one of the fodders; why not just ‘head in the sand’ it - and avoid becoming a target?

Isn’t that what the entire Republican Party is doing?

No one on any social media site ever answers my simple question of ‘what can be done?’ Showing up by the thousands or millions to peacefully protest is just another frustrating waste of time.

And finally, according to you (and my own fatalism) - Any protest is simply an exercise in futility that may or may not stave off the evil…but only for a moment in time.

This is a thoughtful, honest question, and I want to start there. You are not wrong to be suspicious of grand, all-explaining conspiracy frameworks. Those stories often function like theology. They replace uncertainty with certainty, and fear with fatalism, and they end up doing the work of power by exhausting the people who believe them.

You are also not wrong that evil does not require a secret cabal. Systems produce harm all by themselves once incentives, narcissism, and power align. Trump does not need to be “allowed” by some immortal bloodline. He is a familiar type. A weak man whose hunger for adoration collided with fragile institutions and an information ecosystem that rewards chaos. That combination is enough.

Here is the part that matters most, and where I gently push back on fatalism.

Power does not require total control to win. It only needs enough silence, enough withdrawal, enough people deciding that opting out is safer than opting in. “Head in the sand” feels protective, but it is actually the posture that power relies on. Not because dissent always wins, but because non-participation guarantees loss.

What can be done is not heroic or cinematic. It is boring, local, relational, and cumulative. It looks like refusing lies in small rooms, supporting people instead of movements. Building parallel structures of care, labor, and accountability that do not collapse when national politics rot. Authoritarianism feeds on isolation and despair. It starves on connection and persistence.

You are right that protest alone is not enough. Protest without follow-through is theater. But protest plus mutual aid, plus labor action, plus voting, plus institutional sabotage of bad actors, plus refusing to normalize cruelty is not futile. It is slow. Slow does not mean meaningless.

Evil may always be present. That does not make resistance pointless. It makes it necessary. Not to win forever, but to make life livable now.

That is not false hope. That is maintenance.

And maintenance is how civilizations survive.

Rachel @ This Woman Votes's avatar

I get why the cabal explanation feels tempting, it gives shape to a mess that really is engineered to confuse. But here’s the thing: a cabal is still a community, and nothing about these men resembles community. They don’t collaborate, they don’t coordinate, they don’t build anything together. They operate in parallel, not in partnership.

What actually produces the “cluster-fuck web of deception” isn’t a secret brotherhood, it’s the opposite. It’s a culture of atomized, powerful men who evade accountability, exploit systems, and protect themselves reflexively, not collectively.

You don’t need a cabal when you have:

-- shared incentives

-- zero consequences

-- overlapping access to wealth + institutions

-- and a political culture that rewards impunity

That’s not coordination. That’s convergent behavior inside a system that never forces them to act differently.

So yes, you’ll find the same names, the same circles, the same behaviors, not because they’re united, but because they’re interchangeable.

That’s scarier than a cabal.

A cabal can be dismantled.

A cultural operating system takes real work to uproot.

Whitney Webb does phenomenal network reporting — she traces people, money, and institutions.

What I’m doing in The Shadow Arc is something structurally different.

Her work maps actors.

My work maps architecture.

She investigates who did what.

I investigate what the system allows to happen — regardless of who is in the chair.

We overlap only in subject matter, not in method, frame, or thesis.

If the pieces sound similar at first glance, that’s only because we’re both describing parts of a machine most people aren’t used to seeing. The deeper you go into this series, the more obvious the divergence becomes:

• I’m not documenting conspiracies — I’m documenting operating systems.

• I’m not tracking power players — I’m tracking the functions that outlive them.

• And instead of ending with “look what they did,” I’m ending with “look at the architecture they built… and how we replace it.”

If anything, the comparison tells me the work is landing in the right domain: pulling hidden structures into public light. The approach, though, is entirely its own creature.

The first of their 5 pivotal steps is to 1 Address poverty and massive inequality (for sure, this is not easy and requires serious effort, pilot studies, and constant reevaluations). Earth 4 All recommends that this be regional and tailored for each community. 2 Improving gender parity. 3 Healthy and ethical food production. 4. Addressing transportation and 5 Energy needs. All these ideas require constant discussion and reevaluation, along with various safeguards. Nothing is perfect, and transparency, etc, are essential and a choice. I know there are all kinds of fraud and greenwashing among "philanthropists." I think ESGs are not ideal. Some of what Bill McKibben writes about in the crucial years is of interest. Epstein bought a ranch in N Mexico with weird zoning (approved by Bill Richardson) that the government couldn’t enter his “compound”. He had recruited a bunch of blonde haired blue eyed young girls to have white “Nazi approved” kids. No one talks much about this. Epstein was involved in global deal making.

A lot worse than this. The children, girls and boys, were a necessary means to an end.

On the Nose! TWV, most important information.

More than half of Americans have been throughly brainwashed by Fox LIES! <- a billion dollar lawsuit proved this, Rupert payed it off, before it went to court, included in the lawsuit, Fox was not allowed to call their “show” News. Yet they continue to do so, and consistently LIE! About politics, manipulating viewers to vote against their own, and America’s best interests, they did this to my father, he became addicted to Fox, watched every day, was like a football game to him, cheering and yelling, even screaming about Dems destroying America! Telling me to “pay attention to the truth.” Fox LIES! Has destroyed friendships, and families, with hate! End Fox and their copycats, and bring Americans back together, where we must be! In times like this.

I firmly believe, if there has been a way, from the 70's right up until the early 2000's, we had managed to make all televisions , spontaneously self destruct, becoming unfixable, that the ability to mind control entire populations would have hit a major road block. Zappa most definitely had it right. The Slime oozing out of your TV set, is and was a dangerous tool. Ban the idiot box. And no where is this more obvious than the "news"!

Frank Zappa (1972)

I am gross and perverted

I'm obsessed and deranged

I have existed for years

But very little has changed

I'm the tool of the government

And industry, too

For I am destined to rule

And regulate you

I may be vile and pernisious

But you can't look away

I make you think I'm delicious

With the stuff that I say

I'm the best you can get

Have you guessed me yet?

I'm the slime oozing out from your TV set!

You will obey me while I lead you

Eat the garbage that I feed you

Until the day that we don't need you

Don't run for help, no one will heed you

Your mind is totally controlled

It has been stuffed into my mold

And you will do as you are told

Until the rights to you are sold

That's right folks, didn't touch that dial!

(Background singers)

I am the slime from your video

Oozing along on your living room floor

I am the slime from your video

Can't stop the slime

People look at me go

(Some excellent riffs from one of our most underrated guitarists and a prophetic genious.)

This all makes a lot of sense. I'm intrigued to say the least. You're right that it's not right or left. One of many reasons I'm Independent. I'm going to restack and share as much as I'm able. This is pretty awesome. Thank you!
