Ten Ways Billionaires Who Hate You Are Manipulating You Right Now by @thewisewolf
1) The first manipulation is the illusion of choice. You think you have two parties representing different visions for America but both parties are funded by the same billionaires, vote for the same surveillance bills, approve the same defense budgets, and serve the same corporate interests. The choice you are given is which color tie the puppet wears, not who controls the strings.
2) The second manipulation is emotional hijacking. The news does not inform you, it activates you. Every story is framed to trigger fear or anger or disgust because those emotions bypass your rational thinking and make you easier to control. You are not watching journalism. You are being subjected to psychological operations designed to keep you in a constant state of agitation.
3) The third manipulation is tribal sorting. The algorithm learns what makes you angry and feeds you more of it until your entire worldview is shaped by outrage at the other side. You are sorted into a tribe not because you chose it but because keeping you tribal keeps you predictable and profitable.
4) The fourth manipulation is false scarcity. You are told resources are limited and the other tribe is taking what belongs to you. Immigrants are stealing your jobs. Welfare recipients are draining your taxes. The other party is destroying your healthcare. Meanwhile the billionaire class has more wealth than any humans in history and could solve most of these problems tomorrow if they wanted to.
5) The fifth manipulation is memory holing. Stories that threaten powerful interests get buried or forgotten within days. Exposed crimes result in no consequences. Historical context that would help you understand the present is never taught. You are kept in a perpetual present with no past to learn from and no future to plan for.
6) The sixth manipulation is controlled opposition. The voices you think are fighting for you are often funded by the same interests they pretend to oppose. The outrage merchant on your side of the aisle is playing a character designed to keep you engaged and angry and tuned in while nothing ever actually changes.
7) The seventh manipulation is the Overton window. The range of acceptable opinion is artificially narrowed so that anything outside it seems extreme. Ideas that were mainstream fifty years ago are now treated as radical. Ideas that serve elite interests are treated as moderate common sense. You are not choosing your beliefs from the full range of human thought. You are choosing from a menu they wrote.
8) The eighth manipulation is learned helplessness. You are shown so many problems with no solutions that you eventually give up and accept that nothing can change. This is intentional. A population that believes resistance is futile does not resist. They scroll and complain and feel superior for understanding how bad things are while doing absolutely nothing about it.
9) The ninth manipulation is identity capture. Your political affiliation becomes your identity, and any attack on your party feels like an attack on you personally. This makes you defend politicians and policies that harm you because admitting they are wrong would mean admitting you were wrong, and your ego will not allow that.
10) The tenth manipulation is the most insidious of all: you are manipulated into believing you are too smart to be manipulated. Every person reading this thinks the manipulations I described apply to other people, the stupid people, the brainwashed people on the other side. That certainty is itself a manipulation. The moment you believe you are immune is the moment you become most vulnerable
Hmmm! Don't mess with Texas! because once you try and run down a Federal agent he's going to keep shooting at you even after he has managed to get out of the way. This self entitled woman learned a valuable lesson didn't she? but sadly she can only ponder the error of her ways in heaven
I've watched all the videos that were released by the time of my article and did not see anything to support that statement. Could please link me to your evidence that she attempted to run down a federal agent?
Thanks for the reply, sadly my detailed response got lost by some incorrect action on my part and I have no desire to rewrite it. Suffice it to say that regardless of the justification or otherwise for this shooting. People need to let ICE attempt the near impossible task of apprehending and deporting 15 million illegals or the average citizen will be faced with deteriorating educational and medical services because they are being overwhelmed by the illegals. I recommend that you watch Victor Davis Hanson’s video on the subject.
Thanks for the reply. It seems to me from your cleverly annotated video that Renee’s SUV is heading directly towards the agent in front of her, and because he was so close to the approaching vehicle there was no way for him to know whether she was simply maneuvering her car to try and escape or intended to run him down. He therefore decided to shoot at her through the windscreen and then danced out of the way. At this stage it is debatable whether his next two shots through the side window were justified, but you need to remember that these agents are subject to frequent and violent attacks by protestors and are naturally nervous about their safety when faced with uncooperative protestors. What I can’t understand is why so many people are trying to impede their work. According to some reports there are between 15 million and 20 million illegals in the United States and their presence is causing enormous pressure on schools and medical services (See Victor Davis Hanson’s video for an example). I don’t know whether the numerous claims about them actually being paid and housed by state governments are true, but regardless, that many people are an enormous drain on resources that should really only be available to citizens. Even under the most optimistic scenarios it will take at least 10 years to deport that many people.
The self-defense issue is more interesting than saying she was trying to run someone over. The evidence points against that being her intent, but self-defense is from the shooter's point of view, not the person shot.
15 million would be somewhat interesting to talk about, so would 20 million. However, DHS is using the 100M number. That higher number has been publicly used at lower levels in the power structure for a long time. DHS recently using it just pushed it all the way to the top. Going back to 2024, I have never found any campaign statement that deporting citizens and law abiding immigrants was part of the plan, but that is what has been happening since last spring.
In seeing the public media space, people often say that legal observers and protestors are opposing removing illegal immigrants. No doubt that may be the mindset of many, but lifetime conservatives and lawyers like me don't get agitated to oppose law enforcement--we get active when the federal government is violating the law and Constitutional rights. For example, I didn't get agitated about "Deporter-in-Chief" President Obama's aggressive enforcement.
If you haven't, please take a look at the laws that apply to ICE/CBP agents. I listed the most relevant ones in the article. DHS is operating outside of federal law as both announced policy and what we've seen the agents doing. If the agents know the law and the facts of the situations we've seen, then they are committing violent felonies against citizens on a regular basis under 18 USC 242.
Suspension of 1A and 4A rights have been DHS policy since last summer. Often 5A rights as well. This is why you see such large protests now. It is dishonest and devious of the government and media to paint opposition to violent felonies as being about immigration law enforcement.
On the paid protestor thing, I work with groups from here in Fort Worth to Appalachia to Orlando and have never even seen an opportunity to get paid. It's hard enough to even get community donations for basic supplies and Substack subscriptions. My suspicion is that the people claiming such things are those that wouldn't lift a finger to defend their own rights without being paid. Whatever their mental state, we need more people to actually be selfish and start defending their own freedoms soon. Unfortunately, there's not a budget to pay people to care about their own future or that of their family.
Thanks for engaging with me on this subject. The 100 million figure is clearly absurd as is obvious to anyone who has visually checked the rate at which people cross the Rio Grande at the most easily crossed sections. I made an order of magnitude estimate assuming that there were about 10 such locations which pretty much allowed unrestricted passage for about 3 years and discovered that even the 20 million figure is probably unlikely.
I appreciate the same on engagement. On 100M, it's definitely absurd, but there's also concrete steps that fit the pattern so I can't just dismiss it as recruiting or base rallying material. That is the number you get if you run all immigrants since 1965, their children, and great-grandchildren. If you run all hispanics in the United States it's ~65M. In practice, the new enforcement approach has been if you can't prove your legal status on the spot to an ICE agent, they get to take you.
The October 3, 2024 House Judiciary Committee Report used 7,800 as their estimate of actual threats and then 1.7M as their estimate of potential threats; It gets to 8M or so if you combine different categories of illegal immigrants during the Biden administration. Given that came out of a Republican committee during an election focused on immigration, I take them as high end on supportable numbers, but debating one number versus another isn't really my expertise.
My experience is in the law and I just know they're violating the law while also publicly saying 100M and spending $55B to build mass detention camps. I view it with the same alarm fellow conservatives and I viewed concerns about FEMA camps and Jade Helm, except these steps are actually happening instead of just in contingency documents and exercises.
Thanks for the reply. It is truly revelatory to me, but it makes sense. The election campaign promise was just to get rid of the criminals but we can see from ICE’s wilful ignoring of the limits on their powers of search and arrest that the plan is to catch and deport as many hispanics as possible. I remember 23 years ago when I was on holiday in New Mexico with my Japanese wife we were stopped by a Border Patrol roadblock and asked for our passports. At the time I was a bit surprised that the Border Patrol had the power to stop anyone and everyone on a main highway as though we were in a police state. I’m pretty sure that roadblock was less than 25 miles from the Mexican border, so in our particular case they were conforming to the limitations of their powers of stop and search as explained in your article.
Commiefornia is trying to jab your kids without their consent. The legislature is considering AB 495, the Family Preparedness Plan Act of 2025, which significantly expands who can authorize school-related medical care for a minor.
Do you live there? You're very very fortunate. If you wish to live unmedicated, unvaxinated with MAGA idiots in charge, come on to Texas. We are the backwater you desire!
As I was writing that a federal judge blocked ICE from arresting protestors. The opinion is 40 pages and I haven't had time to dive into it, but I plan to.
