Herbert Marcuse wrote One-Dimensional Man. He's right up your alley. Wikipedia: "He argues that the 'advanced industrialized society' created false needs, which integrate individuals into the existing system of production and consumption via mass media, advertising, industrial management, and contemporary modes of thought." I'm personally skeptical of the need to turn this ideology into a money-making scheme; however, it is a free world, and there shouldn't be major standards on entrepreneurship as long as it doesn't hurt anybody. Well... it might hurt some in the psychological industry who strongly believe in a certain set of cognitive theories and see any consideration of alternate realities as aberrant behavior. So go for it! Spread the word. I won't pay a dime for it, but others might.

Marcuse is a great pull, but he had the luxury of critiquing the factory floor from the safety of a tenured academic silo. I don't.

You call it a 'money-making scheme.' I call it paying rent. The Establishment's favorite trick is convincing people that anyone fighting the system must do it for free. It is the ultimate failsafe—it guarantees the rebels eventually starve and have to crawl back to the assembly line.

I'm grinding so I don't have to ask a corporation for permission to write. Keep your dimes. The blueprints are for the people who are actually trying to build an exit. Like wat xD
