Beautifully written! Tone is important. The attitude could be “This is me, like it or lump it ;)

Or seriously life it too short to sweat the small stuff!! Sometimes ‘fuggetaboutIt!!!

That’s my current philosophy because I want to keep living and enjoying!!! Peace fellow Substackers ✌🏼 ❤️

You write so well about the universal dilemma of the Conflict Between the Desire to Belong and the Desire to Have a Mind of One’s Own.

This (possible ) universal Cognitive and Affective Dissonance in this domain, (has been is still is), often leads to cognitive , emotional and social overload.

I guess this one price we pay for being social creatures.

We need others both for survival and for thriving.

You very aptly describe a very similar imprisonment created by and perpetuated by machine learning and its flaws , hidden by its human creators.

Two Questions-

1- regarding the machine learning and teaching to humans-

Can the flaws in the system you described be corrected?

Do you know how that would work?

2- regarding the human dilemma of attempting to have a mind of one’s own , in the context of one needing to be part of some form of small and larger social groups:

It could be useful to explore ways that might assist the individual to become less influenced by the social forces , you do well described.

Have you considered articulating your own hypothetical solutions to easing the human toll of having to excessively relinquish our individual , not fully autonomous inclinations?

Brilliant! I could not take my eyes off! Well, you have trained well enough to capture that attention.

Oh man we are simpatico. I’m rushing around at the moment- I can’t wait to settle down and spend some time with that.

We clearly hold identical opinions on some stuff. There is a lot here.

Do you notice the absence of baselines (common understanding)? Always.

Digging into this shortly.
